I think one of the best ways to understand the world around us is to see and experience it. Sharing in the culture and reality of another person through a study or volunteer abroad experience will help to strengthen our ability to communicate with each other. This will, in turn, help youth from around the world to become better leaders in the world of business, politics, the environment and NGOs. As a teacher, I have been involved in taking students on overseas programs with a number of organizations and this has lead me to work with a team of people to create a directory for Canadian high school students looking for a variety of international learning opportunities.
